Mountain Trail Rides Departing near Kimberley BC
General Information- We offer an assortment of trail rides to choose from. Half day, full day, and a popular evening ride which includes dinner. One of our full day rides takes you to a natural hot springs in the mountains. Daily rides from St Mary River Lodge (Marysville) and Wild Rose Ranch (Wasa). Daily rides are 2-3 hours in length. Ride start times are 10:30 am and 2 pm. St Mary River Lodge rides are mountain trail rides, Wild Rose rides are ranch rides. Both offer amazing vistas, pristine rivers and creeks, and safety and fun on the best mountain horses in the Kootenays! St Mary River Lodge is accessed via the St Mary Lake Road and is approximately 45 minutes from Marysville. The Wild Rose Ranch is accessed via the Wolf Creek Road and is approximately 10 minutes out of downtown Wasa. Each week during the summer we also offer an evening dinner ride. Join us for a “spaghetti western” or “steak ride”.
***Kids day camps at the Wild Rose Ranch start August 3rd and will run every Wednesday in Augus- Reserve early as space is limited
Daytime Trail Ride Options
- “1/2 Day Giddy Up” – 2-3 hr ride from lodge and return: $95/adult rider, $55/child rider (10-14). Includes drinks and snacks. Depart from St. Mary Lodge or Wild Rose Ranch.
- “Full Day Hot Springs or St Mary River Trail” – 6-8 hr ride: $175/adult rider, $125/child rider (10-14). Includes lunch at Hot Springs camp. All day ride from Calamity Creek’s End of the Road Camp on the border of the Purcell Wilderness Conservancy. Soak in famous Dewar Creek Hot Springs, laze with grazing horses in beautiful Bugle Basin, and BBQ dinner at the Top camp or Lodge on return (Bring swimsuit and towel). Note: This tour departs from St Mary River Lodge only.
Evening Trail Ride Options
- “Evening Steak Ride or Spaghetti Western” –2 hour ride from St Mary River Lodge or Wild Rose Ranch. $125/adult rider. $75/child rider. Includes dinner (NY Steak, back ribs, or spaghetti and meat balls) and all the fixings (Baked Spuds, cob corn, and salad).
